Business Partner Event 2018 Roundup
Guest speakers, panel sessions, and product launches: our 2018 Business Partner Event had the lot.
On Thursday 21st June, we welcomed over 80 of our partners, customers, and prospects to the Village Hotel in Nottingham, where we discussed AI, machine learning, and analytics – and how we can put these technologies to use in our working lives.
Offering thought leadership and analytics case studies, we welcomed a combination of partners and friends to share their thoughts and insights into a new analytical world.
We started the day’s talks with Nick Radcliffe from Stochastic Solutions, whose presentation was titled AI, Machine Learning and Deep Learning Without the Hype.
Setting the tone for the day, Nick was perfectly positioned to dispel people’s worries and fears about AI and ML, being ready to learn how they could be used ethically and effectively.
techUK’s Sue Daley was up next, following on from the dispelling of the AI hype to provide actionable advice on how these technologies could be used for business benefit.
Her aim was to maximise adoption of analytics related technologies, while also identifying risks and challenges.
We then welcomed a duo of our partners to the stand – Cliff Brereton and Vibin Vijay of OCF Data. It was time to see the real-world benefits of predictive analytics first-hand!
They presented a case study using Pi Analytics with radiology data, where the software could discover the leading causes for failed x-rays and having to be retaken.
Armed with this data, hospitals could make key changes to save on resource, cost, and ensure the patient doesn’t need to receive a double dose of radiation from having to undertake two x-rays.

Headlining the event was the launch of Pi Analytics which, when switched on, allows the user to build predictive trees in the dashboard, which are shown as Sankey diagrams.
Event attendees were also shown the new HTML configuration screen, which means that Pi Dashboard users never have to leave the HTML interface to configure users or create database connections, which results in a better, seamless experience.
We also launched our new Services Pricebook, which was designed to help our partners learn how we can help them to get up to speed on any new product features.
Just before the end of the event, it was time to reveal which two of our partners had won well-deserved awards.
