Hydraulics Online Case Study

South Cheshire-based Hydraulics Online specialises in systems design and the supply of equipment for hydraulic projects globally. They are providers of fluid power solutions to customers in 130 countries and across 20 sectors worldwide.

As the business has grown the senior management team wanted to create data-driven UK and export strategies and needed business intelligence which would allow them to identify where best to focus their efforts across countries and sectors.


Problem


The business was struggling to data in Sage to help them make strategic decisions. There was no aggregated view of data and no trended data. They wanted to get better reporting across customers in over a hundred different countries.

Importantly they wanted a visual picture of their business to help them identify future strategies based on a clear understanding of growth areas by customer, product and industry sector.

Challenges


Data in Sage 50 was very siloed and there was poor visibility of performance, particularly across global export markets and no aggregated view across different aspects of the business. They needed a solution which would allow for a full analysis.

We needed software that could plug into our Sage system, enabling us to turn the rich but inaccessible data we hold into valuable business knowledge that will help us to scale Hydraulics Online and develop both our domestic and export strategy,”  said Helen Tonks.


Solution


With the aim of driving domestic and international sales and supporting customers more effectively, the business installed Panintelligence software, a super-secure BI and analytics platform providing real-time dashboards, to enable it to use its own data to strategically target UK and export markets.

We searched for a solution and came across Panintelligence. We love the dynamic nature of the dashboards; we can drill down and really explore the data. I find it really fast and really easy to use. We only have positives to say about it.
