Panintelligence and Leeds University Create Marketing Internship

Panintelligence, a Leeds-based software company, in conjunction with the University of Leeds, offers a Marketing Internship to Afshan Zahoor, an English Language undergraduate. The 8 week programme will give her hands-on experience working in a busy sales and marketing department. Jade Turley, Account Manager at Panintelligence, with the help of Charlotte Britton, SEO consultant from Optimum Exposure, identified an opportunity to bolster our marketing strategy. They developed a Marketing Internship with the University of Leeds to give an undergraduate student vital work experience. Jade previously completed a year in industry, for a software company, through Leeds Beckett University. Upon realising the positive impact it had, she was very passionate about creating a similar role for an undergraduate student, within Panintelligence.

Jade believes “This is a fantastic opportunity for an intern to join us. We are a forward thinking company and always welcome new and fresh ideas. Internships provide on the job training and skills that are invaluable in preparing you for life after university. I will always be grateful for being given the opportunity to complete my placement alongside my degree.” Our new intern Afshan, an English Language student from the University of Leeds, joined us on the 4th August 2015.

Afshan agrees this internship is a fantastic opportunity and says “The graduate market, where innovation and creativity are pre-requisites, is becoming more and more competitive by the minute. My aim is to equip myself with the necessary skills and experience required, before I leave the carefree student world and enter the inevitable world of work. I have been fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity to undertake the role of an Online Marketing Assistant at Panintelligence; an award-winning software company, which focuses on being supportive, open and innovative. I applied to Panintelligence via the Leeds University internship programme because I was really drawn to the company’s long-term vision and values. For instance, ‘relationships come first’ and ‘long term focus’ are values that I share.

The fact that I am working in a close-knit team, where I have the opportunity to gain new skills, explore many of my strengths and weaknesses and tailor my experience to a future career in marketing, is fantastic. “Within my first week at the company I already felt part of the team because the family atmosphere in the original job description really resonated with me, which was one factor that encouraged me to apply. I feel very comfortable in my new working environment, which has given me the best possible start to making the most of my time here. Whether this means delving into new areas, developing my team-working skills, bonding with the fish, or creating a pink fluffy slippers trend in the office – innovation at its finest!”
