Friday 1st August. Yorkshire Day. The day we officially opened the doors to our brand new Panintelligence HQ in the heart of Leeds.
And that timing wasn’t accidental.
Our roots are firmly in Yorkshire - and anyone who knows this region knows it’s not just a place on the map. It’s a mindset. Grit, warmth, straight-talking, and a healthy dose of pragmatism. It’s that spirit that’s got us through this last year - a year of searching, measuring, changing plans, measuring again… and waiting patiently (or not so patiently) for our forever home.
And now, we’re in.
From Five Days In to Fully Remote - and Back with Intention
Before Covid, we were a five days a week in the office kind of team. It’s just what we did - we worked side by side, every day. When the world shifted, we pivoted to fully remote like everyone else, and stayed that way for more than a year. We adapted quickly - and like many tech businesses, we didn’t just survive, we thrived.
Post-pandemic, we embraced hybrid working - because flexibility matters - but we always kept a space to come together. That was important to us. A business like ours, with a collaborative product and a close-knit culture, still needs a physical heartbeat.
Then, a year ago, we said goodbye to our long-time base in Yeadon. We’ve been floating a bit since - in and out of smaller, short-term offices. Functional, yes. But home? Not quite.
It’s taken a year of exploring, rethinking, and weighing up our options, but we’ve finally found a space that feels just right.
This Is More Than Just an Office
Moving into our new Leeds HQ on Yorkshire Day felt symbolic. This region, our region, has shaped the way we work, the way we lead, and the way we build. And it felt right to open our doors on a day that celebrates exactly that.
This space is a reflection of who we are now: modern, ambitious, values-driven. It’s a place built for high performance and genuine connection. Not flashy, but smart. Not rigid, but intentional.
And if you’re a fellow leader reading this, I’d ask - does your office still serve its purpose? Has it evolved with your culture, or just been left behind? Because the right space - used the right way - has the power to galvanise a team in ways remote work simply can’t replicate.
Also, never underestimate the unifying power of a fancy coffee machine. Productivity may be hard to measure, but flat whites and casual collaboration over a good espresso? That’s culture in a cup.
An Office Is Still a Community Hub
One thing COVID taught us is that productivity doesn’t rely on presence. But culture? That’s a different story.
Offices like ours are not about oversight - they’re about belonging. They’re where knowledge is shared informally. Where new joiners get the nuance that’s never written down. Where values - ours are Curiosity, Resourcefulness, and Authenticity - are not just posters but practice.
Yorkshire Roots, Global Ambitions
There’s something very “Yorkshire” about the way we’ve done this. We’ve been practical, deliberate, and people-first. And now we’ve created a space that matches our ambition - not just to grow, but to do it in a way that stays true to our culture and values.
We’re not just unpacking monitors. We’re laying foundations.
We’re building a space where people want to be - not because they have to be, but because it feels good to be part of something.
And the best part about today? It wasn’t the new fixtures and fittings, or even the rather impressive plant collection we seem to have acquired – it was the laughter, the banter, and the unmistakable feeling that we’re back together, building something special.
We’re home. Finally. And it’s worth every minute of the wait.
