We’re happy to announce that version 2 of the pi API was released in January 2021. This version offers a number of improvements and will eventually replace the previous version.
Why are we releasing a new version of our API?
The new API upgrade has been released to standardise and improve your pi experience. The improvements include the following:
- Removal of legacy java code so we can continue to refine the pi product
- Written in JSON and said goodbye to old XML code
- Built using open API V3 standard and deployed via Swagger
Will you remove support for the old API?
No not straight away. For the time being, you don’t need to change anything, and support for the old API will remain in place. But we encourage you to transition across to the new version as soon as you can.
How do I update to the new API?
The same endpoints are used for the new version as the old version, therefore updating to the new version will be relatively simple. We have provided full pi API documentation via our new SwaggerHub.
